Structured cabling is a cabling system designed to carry voice, data and video signals across a building in an organised, maintainable way. It is typically installed with reference to widely recognised industry guidance such as TIA/EIA and ISO/IEC cabling standards.
Cat5e is commonly used for 1Gbps networks. Cat6 is often specified for modern offices where higher throughput over shorter distances is required. Cat6A is generally chosen for higher bandwidth over longer runs.
